Selective demolition and abatement were completed while adhering to strict infection control standards. Features also include a dedicated bio-contamination hood exhaust, dedicated HVAC system, new clean room, and rooftop penthouse.
A key element to this project was the construction of a new exterior vertical shaft that connected to the newly constructed rooftop penthouse that contained the air handling unit. Significant delays in the lead time on the air handling unit were mitigated by the early coordination our team had with the design team. By modifying the design to incorporate a removable section of the penthouse wall, our team was able to complete the construction of the penthouse prior to the arrival of the mechanical air handling unit. Once the unit arrived, it was craned into place through the opening in the wall where final connections were made, and the removable wall section was re-installed.
