Stay tuned as we take a closer look at how 2024 set records and broke new ground.

Gensco Vancouver
Perlo Construction partnered with Gensco to expand their Vancouver, Washington facility, doubling its capacity with a 50,000 SF addition. The project included a warehouse upgrade with extensive racking, new dock doors, and a concrete trash enclosure. A new mezzanine was also added, featuring offices, a breakroom, a conference room, and restrooms. This expansion positions Gensco for continued growth and operational efficiency in the Vancouver area. Additionally, our teams are currently building Gensco’s newest 407,000 SF distribution center in Salem, Oregon which will allow them to grow throughout Southern Oregon.

Scope highlights:
- 10 aisle of racking
- 28 concrete panels
- 6 dock height doors
- 24’ clear height
- All MEP work
Perlo Team:

Nick Butler, Superintendent
Tom Broadwater, Foreman
Mars Gracida, Field Safety Coordinator
Crystal Bentley, Lead Assistant Project Manager
Torry Worthey, Subcontractor AP Specialist
“It was a really tight jobsite and we also had to make sure the existing facility could stay operational. We worked hard to get it built fast, and way under budget. Even better, the site was recognized by the Vancouver Business Journal as one of the top projects of the year!”
Nick Butler, Superintendent
Peninsula Truck Lines
Located in North Portland, Peninsula Truck Lines brought Perlo on to build a new 35,000 SF dock facility, office space, and mechanical shop. The project consisted of the demolition and renovation of two existing buildings while extending the original crossdock. The new office includes both open and enclosed workspaces, a dispatch facility, an employee locker room, a break room, a gym, and more. The shop features three bays for truck maintenance as well as storage for tools and materials.

Scope highlights:
- 3-bay maintenance shop
- 20,000 SF crossdock with 19’ clear height
- 20 overhead dock doors
- 7-acres of site development and improvement
Perlo Team:
Stephen Alger, Senior Project Manager
Jarred Hakala, Superintendent
Matt Nordness, Foreman
Mars Gracida, Field Safety Coordinator
Reygan Pattullo, Assistant Project Manager
Torry Worthey, Subcontractor AP Specialist
“It was great working with Peninsula; they’re really dedicated, humble people that are proud of their family business. The structure itself is deceptively unique as well. We used an interesting Styrofoam fill in the foundation package under the crossdock and office to fill voids without adding excess weight. It was pretty cool for a smaller structure.“
Stephen Alger, Senior Project Manager
BAK II – General Glass
Perlo Construction partnered with General Glass for a second time to deliver their new 73,000 SF manufacturing facility. This ground-up concrete tilt project features a striking exterior paint pattern and a two-story office space, conference rooms, restrooms, storage, and a coffee bar. The facility includes warehouse restrooms with showers, and a specialty platform designed to support their glass furnace. This collaboration reflects Perlo’s commitment to meeting unique manufacturing needs while delivering exceptional results.

Scope highlights:
- Owner provided equipment coordination
- Interior crane installation
- 2,500 SF mezzanine
- Corresponding TI for the office space
- Poured nearly 2,700 cubic yards of concrete
Perlo Team:
Erich Schmidt, Senior Project Manager
Tracy Robinson, Superintendent
Jared Libby, Foreman
Mars Gracida, Field Safety Coordinator
Crystal Bentley, Lead Assistant Project Manager
“The furnace for General Glass’ products required a unique enclosed mezzanine in the middle of the building. It needed huge quantities of air and ventilation, and then each portion of the manufacturing equipment was perfectly placed around it. The office TI was beautiful too. They showcased their glass everywhere, like glass barn doors hung on glass walls. It was really nice.”
Tracy Robinson, Superintendent
Straightaway Cocktails
After seeing major growth in demand, Straightaway Cocktails brought Perlo on to build out a new distilling, bottling, and storage facility. The 44,000 SF tenant improvement featured 12 primary distilling tanks with a combined capacity of nearly 50,000 gallons, an automated bottling line, cold storage, a dedicated botanical storeroom, and 32,000 SF of racking storage. This required a new slopped slab for drainage, new footings for the tanks, and power to all the equipment. Due to their record setting growth and innovation, Straightaway was also awarded the Portland Business Journal’s Makers & Manufacturers Award.

Scope highlights:
- Glycol and CO2 lines
- Unique flammable liquid fire protection system
- Cold storage
- Alterations to existing slab
Perlo Team:
Erich Schmidt, Senior Project Manager
Lyle Rinearson, Project Manager
Dale Dvorak, Superintendent
Tony Harbison, Field Safety Coordinator
Reygan Pattullo, Assistant Project Manager
Torry Worthey, Subcontractor AP Specialist
“This was a really unique build for us. We had to work closely with engineers to ensure all the equipment was properly supported by the facility. The city was also nervous about spirit production, and we utilized several new kinds of exhaust systems and fire protection systems to alleviate their concerns.”
Lyle Rinearson, Project Manager
